    Introduction

 

    1. The United Kingdom referendum, held on the 23 June 2016, resulted in a  majority vote to leave the European unio. On 26 June 2018, the  European unio （Withdrawal） Act 2018 （EUWA） was passed.

 

    2. The EUWA provides that, on exit from the EU, certain directly applicable EU legislation will be converted into UK law. In this Consultation, we refer to the converted law as “retained EU law”。
