This notice provides instructions to inspection program personnel （IPP）， including Public Health
Veterinarians （PHVs） and Consumer Safety Inspectors （CSIs）， at slaughter establishments for collecting
tissue samples for residue testing and to PHVs for collecting cecal samples for antimicrobial resistance
testing under the FSIS Pilot for Residue Sampling to Complement the National Antimicrobial Resistance
Monitoring System （NARMS） Program. For the purpose of this notice, the term “PHV” refers to both PHVs
and Supervisory Public Health Veterinarians.
